The early morning sound of the radio enters the dream/waking moments of the sleeper. They suggest a non-sequential and tangential end to the interrupted dream. The rhythmic quality of the announcer's voice evokes a shifting pattern of the last images absorbed while in bed, half-conscious the evening before. A remix of sorts ensues combining "A Shot in the Dark", "Top Secret", the nightly news, and canned vegetables. A parade of easy targets, from the Myth of Sisyphus to the awkward anglo to the corporate media.

Motion Test was made while in residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Spring of 2003, where the associate artists in residence were experimenting with video works of very short duration.

Again, as with Condensate, the short duration of the piece led to ideas concerning lifespan, termination, and moments in which our perceptions of reality are pierced. For this piece, excerpts from US Department of Defense films documenting nuclear testing in the 1950's are re-edited and juxtaposed.

In 1971, Ingmar Bergman mad his only american film, The touch, starring ensemble regulars Max Von Syndow and Bibi Anderson, along with early 70s everyman Elliot Gould. In 2001, Marie Losier decided to recast herself in Gould’s role, breathing new life into Bergman’s most awkward, ill-conceived and dubious filmic endeavor.

Slowed down frames, the viewer sees how the impression of a moving image is created. But the sense of both movement and stillness, time and not-time, is even stronger. In this video I have reproduced this digitally with very different effects. The original footage was shot in Cabot Plaza, Canary Wharf, and is a study in colour, texture and pattern, music driven, with images shaped to the hurdy-gurdy music of Remy Couvez

Predrag Pajdic – The garden – 2004 –8:45 - Servia.

The work presents the artist garden, the inner sanctum of Pajdic’s new found home in the UK. The work, shot over a period of 12 months from the exact same spot in his London home, represents the gradual changing of the seasons. This work symbolically acts, as the artist turns his back on the past constantly awaiting the tide of change in his tranquil garden.

Ane Lan - Europa – 2003 – Noruega.

A woman, or one who appearing to be so, dressed in a traditional costume is holding up a mirror in which she sees the stars of the EU flag. She starts to sing a song in which she declares her unwillingness to marry someone (read: join the EU), and hoping for a better future in solitude, singing: “If I can rule by myself”. But inside her mirror there is another woman, dressed in the same costume, who eagerly puts the image of an old officer/royality up for auction, signing the contract and selling out the white linen I her brides chest. But suddenly she finds that there is dirt/oil in the bottom of her chest, and the stars of the EU is faded in soon followed by reportage images of excessive consummation, environmental catastrophe and third world starvation…

In this piece, I portray the two opposite personas which coexist in me: Me in real space and another me in the tv monitor. Mimicking the format of family photos or souvenir photos, they evoke the stereotype of the accord between two qualities in me and the deviated emotional situation created by the split.

Filmed inside of a safe/cell, “Me Desculpe” is my first vídeo. There, you can see a naked woman, with her head covered, recurring image of nowadays, that goes fumbling slowly the bottom of this prision, in a search that ends on myself.
