Amy Guggenheim "Future Tense" 5 minutes, 2003

The adventure of desire can be as fulfilling as its satisfaction. We see the fantasy of a young man and a young woman run towards each other. What happens when they get together is suggested by the music, and resolved by the viewer.

It’s the classic story we’ve seen in countless movies: two lovers make their final goodbyes on a bustling train platform—the romantic isolation, the kiss, the longing gaze, the gestures of remembrance as the train pulls away from the station.

Stop motion combines the first of Hamlet’s monologue with images of New Jersey’s Garden State Parkway, filmed from a car at 80 miles, the ghost of Hamlet appears on these blurred images, it seems that a feeling of violence is unavoidable.

In the digital, the drawing has a different connotation, the author reveals a trace with hesitations, it can be a research on the self motivation of the artist.
